Simply put, experiential learning is the process of learning from experience.  The most common framework for Experiential learning comes from the work of David Kolb. 

The cycle guides the development of experimental learning activities. During training with Authentic Leadership Solutions, we create experiences using the experiential learning cycle. Participants will engage in exercises on which they will reflect, through assignments, discussions, activities and from which they will learn new perspectives and knowledge. Participants will then apply and use these learnings in their work environment.

The team are participants rather than spectators to a PowerPoint presentation where most details are forgotten before they leave the room.  Instead, participants enjoy an experience-based activity led by a Coach


Experience-based learning becomes experiential when participants have a chance to reflect on the experience to enhance the immediate awareness of their learning.  The Coach will make room for a number of different perspectives and facilitate conversations about what was just experienced at group and individual levels.
